The Lake Travis Cavalier Band is a group of student musicians with the highest standards of performance and behavior. We represent Lake Travis High School with pride, dignity, and professionalism. We perform at all LT football games, a series of marching and concert band contests and festivals, and at a variety of concerts and service events. Various smaller groups from within our band perform at selected events to meet the needs of our school district and community. These groups include the Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Flute Choir, and several smaller ensembles.
Congratulations LT Band!
Congratulations to the LT Band for receiving 1st Place in class 4A at the Capital City Marching Festival!
Our Head Drum Major, Jordan, was inspired by several Drum Majors before her, such as McKenzie Speight, Quinn Wallace, and Melanie Nichols. As a freshman, Jordan was told by Mckenzie that she was “going to be a drum major.” So, after being named a Drum Major at the end of her sophomore year, she was ecstatic to be able to help mold the band program into something memorable. “I felt my full potential would be reached if I was a drum major”. One of her favorite things about being Drum Major is standing on the podium and “watching the band unfold” right in front of her. Jordan enjoys the atmosphere the band provides, as well as how it nurtures people throughout their high school careers. “The band is my family. I seriously consider everyone my family. I’ve never been apart of a group that I feel most at home with. I wouldn’t trade this band for the world. I love that the band is my family”.
Daniel, a senior Drum Major, has spent the entirety of his high school career dreaming of being a part of positive change in the program. Aspiring to become a band director, Daniel was extremely grateful to be given such an incredible opportunity, which he believes will prepare him adequately for his future. In addition, he enjoys being able to work with his fellow Drum Majors, “the best leadership team yet.”
Johana, the youngest Drum Major, was extremely humbled to earn her position and eager to make a difference in the “big picture” of the program. One of her favorite things about the band organization is the closeness and camaraderie between the members, the “family dynamic” for which we are known. “Band kids just get it you know, they just get life”.
